OB gift after delivery?

Any November mamas heard of, or buying, a gift for your OB for after delivery? I'm not sure what's customary or what to get etc.

I think a nice hand written thank you card and pic of the baby is good.

I recommend gifting something consumable - flowers, chocolate, wine, soap, candle. Imagine if everyone gave them something to keep forever - their houses would be full to bursting x

I find it weird. But I guess if you're that close to them. It's like the nurses goodie bags. Why do you have to do more? I already have enough to prepare for, for a newborn. It's their job and they like doing it or they wouldn't be there and they get paid well. Telling them thank you is enough to me.

I've never heard of this before.. but it does make me want to do so for my doctor. He actually missed my sons birth, but for good reason. His own wife had recently given birth. But he made it a point to stop at the women's center to see him the very next day before he went into work. This time around he gave me his personal cell# just so he doesn't miss my little girls birth. He's such a wonderful guy!

My mom and I are making my OB a gift basket. Or something simple like a thank you card with a gift card to somewhere is nice.

For my first we bought her an orchid plant for her office. Still trying to figure out what to get her this time. I think it's a sweet gesture. I had a planned c section which turned into an emergency and her quick thinking saved me and my baby.
