bloody show/mucus plug question?

I was just wondering will everybody loose their mucus plug before labor? I know not everyone's waters break and the midwives do it for you but is it the same with the show? I'm 39 weeks today and have had no discharge as of yet

This is my 4th pregnancy and I have never noticed losing my mucus plug!

What do you mean the midwife does it for you? Your water does break whether spontaneous or thru amniotomy which is voluntarily rupturing the amniotic sac to induce labor. Your water can break too and only slowly leak... if you noticed excess clear liquid or it is slightly running down your leg then that could be your water broke.

Not everyone notices when they loose their mucus plug nor if it happened before... my mom only remembers losing her mucus plug with 1 child out of 4. It can also happen slowly, not all at once
