If you go over 40 weeks what happens?

Does the doctor induce you?
I have horrible pain in my back from a pre existing condition and im so scared ill go over 40 weeks and be miserable even longer 😣

ACOG doesn't recommend induction in normal pregnancies until at least 41 weeks.

My dr will let you get to 41 before talking about inducing unless there are other reasons medically that you need to sooner but then they don't schedule till 42 weeks. My first baby I was 41 weeks 1 day scheduled to do the membrane sweep and then talk about inducing if that didn't work. But my water broke the morning of my apt lol but same case with this. Baby unless it's needed sooner they will not induce before hand.
