Guys are confusing af

So I've been talking to this guy and we've FaceTimed a bunch of times and last night before we went to bed, I called him a dork and he said "well so are you, just a super attractive one." I'm so confused though because he's asking some other girl to homecoming and he's told me all about it but he keeps flirting with me. I have it bad for him too and I don't understand why he'd call me cute but ask someone else to homecoming. Any advice or suggestions?
