Anyone have a quick dilation story??

I'm due Friday and at my last check was almost 2cm dilated and 25% effaced. I know there's no telling, but does anyone have an encouraging story of fast progression and labor/birth? 😃

I was at 2.5cm & not in real labour yet... I went into the bathroom to take a shit & came out at 8cm.

The day I went into labor I went from 5 cm to 10 cm in 10 minutes!!! So fast ai had no chance to get an epidural. Anything can happen. Good luck!!!

I was checked at exactly 40 weeks and I was only 1cm. The doctor did a membrane sweep. 3 days later at around noon, I started having some strong contractions. I made it to the hospital around 2 and my water broke. When they checked me, I was only 1.5cm. I labored for about 3 hours and started to feel pressure. They checked me and I was now 6cm. By 7:15, I was 10cm and ready to push. I pushed for an hour and she was born at 8:40pm. I'm hoping to have a smooth, quick delivery with our second girl.

At my last appointment I was dilated to a 3, this morning when I came to the hospital in labor I was about a 4-5 at 5 am, they broke my water at 730, and I delivered at 806!

My friend had the quickest dilation/labor I have ever heard of a week and a half ago. We found out we were pregnant at the same time and she was due a week after me (although I still haven't delivered). We are both RN's and work on the same floor. She went to the doctor at 38 weeks having contractions, the monitor showed late decelerations (baby was in distress) so she was sent to the hospital, but she wasn't dilated at all. The baby was still in distress when she got there so they were prepping her for an emergency csection when she felt like she had to have a bowel movement. She went to the bathroom and her water broke. When she got back in bed she felt like she had to push and the nurse checked her and she was 10 cm, and 3 pushes later baby was out.  This happened within the span of an hour! She was literally signing consent forms with the anesthesiologist when it happened and they had to call the doctor back from surgery to deliver. Her sister barely made it in time to be with her, and her husband didn't make it.  Both her and baby are fine and perfectly healthy! And here I am 3 days past due and no sign of labor lol

At 39 weeks i was 2cm...i was induced at 39+6...by the time i got to the hospital i was 4cm(sperm made me contract and dilate, worth a shot :D)...they started pitocin at 6am...my contractions came on immediately (3-4minsapart) i could only feel tightening, no pain. At 9am doctor broke my waters and said i am at 6cm...she said that if i want epidural then do it now or baby will come before it kicks in...glad i did because as soon as she broke the waters, my contractions got intense! About a minute apart for 5-10 mins from when she broke the waters to until i got epidural. Thats all the pain i had during delivery.
As soon as my epidural kicked in, pain went away n i could only feel slight pressure which helped me to push when it was time.... Took a nap. At 11.30am i could feel pressure in my butt, nurse said not to push or baby will come before doc does...doctor arrived at 11.50 and baby girl came at 12.07pm :D so all together 6hrs XD
I loved the epidural since i have no negative emotions because of pain what so ever. All i remember is the feeling of happiness when i first saw my little girl.
Maybe my pain tolerance is just high because doctor said that the way i tore(was minimal but in a bad spot) i would be in a lot of pain when i pee and all i could feel was tiny burn. I was fully back on my feet and functional on day 4 and now 3weeks later i am fully healed :)

With my first, I was not dilated or effaced at all at any of my cervical checks. I had an appointment on my due date and went in. When they checked me, I was 4 cm dilated. They wanted to send me home because I was a FTM and my contractions were still kind of far apart (5-7 minutes). I refused to go home, so they let me into a birth house and just told me to hang out there until the midwife was done with clinic hours (she was the only one on duty because the others were sick). I didn't see my midwife again until 4 hours later when I had my baby.
