Does your doctor do your ultrasounds?

I recently learned that my OBGYN usually doesn't do ultrasounds in her office, but instead sends patients to a separate lab for ultrasounds. Is anyone in a similar situation?

I'm a little concerned about this setup because I'd like to know about it right away if everything is okay, but it seems like ultrasound technicians don't interpret the images, as the doctor typically does this. I wonder if I'll have to wait for the doctor to call me after the ultrasound to tell me if everything was okay?

Confused! Would love to hear from anyone in a similar situation. Thanks!
