Is my boyfriend playing mind games?? Jealous sister??

Help you guys, I know this has nothing to do with my period or sex life but I need you guys opinion cause everyone around me is judgemental. So my boyfriend recently told me that he had to go to a program or staffing (What teenagers go to when they've done illegal stuff numerous times for maybe even up to a year) and what not so he text me on Facebook messenger and told me to call him cause he was "locked up." Unfortunately I couldn't do that so yeah after this incident I go on his timeline to see if it was true or whatever cause idk if you guys are familiar with this or not but when a person goes to jail or prison someone who is close to that person goes on social media and says "free" whomever but yeah I went on his wall and one of his close friends had wrote on his Facebook timeline saying "free my brother" so I'm like okay, believable enough. So after suffering 9 whole days without my boyfriend I kept on seeing in the Facebook chat that he's active and not active. So I found that a bit fishy, so that's why I'm currently wondering what I'm wondering. Is he playing mind games or not? Anyway, long story short he messaged me on Facebook messenger Monday morning telling me that he went to court and what not and that they let him out but his phone is going to be off the very next day.... Mind you his phone wasn't even on to begin with before he went in and he only spent 9 days in there. So yeah I see him active online again later on that day so I'm like hmmm, where are you really at? Cause that was short, so yeah "his brother." Messages me back saying "he's locked up rn and going to a program soon." Mind you guys he has a history of lying to me about stupid shit so I'm wondering if he's playing mind games with me or not to see if I'm gonna cheat if a scenario like that did happen. But at the same time, this guy is so attached to me from what he shows me I don't think that he would go that long without talking to me on purpose. So this is where my sister comes in at, I tell her everything. She's encouraged me to break up with him so many times after I'd tell her some simple shit about my boyfriend. She's not very encouraging when it comes to my love life and I really do love this guy. It's insane. But yeah I stupidly asked for her opinion on it and she's already bad mouthing him saying he's a liar and he's playing mind games. She's really discouraging about my relationship as of this isn't a real life problem that's making a huge impact on me. So yeah the question is my boyfriend playing mind games to see If I would cheat if he ever got in that situation, or is he really in a program/staffing like he said he was and Mind you guys I don't know shit about the system so bare with me and he did tell me ahead of time before this all went down. I need help cause why would he allow his "brother" on his facebook page to talk to me through his account when we have personal conversations/personal pictures in there and since I have his account password I know he hasn't deleted any messages??? Help you guys.
