Sex while pregnant?

So I've heard that having sex can induce labor. I'm six months pregnant, and we still have sex like twice a week. If I'm on top I get really bad cramps on the side of my belly. I haven't been to my doctor in nearly a month but I have an appointment for next week. For you ladies, how does your sex life change throughout your pregnancy? Do you ever stop having sex at some point?
