advice on sex when your boyfriend is 18??

Hi!! My boyfriend and I have been dating for about a year and 4 month. We stayed when I turned 16 (he asked me out on my birthday) and he was 17. Now, he's 18 and I'm 17 and I won't be 18 until June. We're feeling really guilty because it's illegal and try to hold off on a lot of things, but we're very much in love and tend to get caught up in the moment. Any advice or comments would be helpful!!

Honestly I bet it happens all the time despite the illegal age difference. So if you guys want to have sex just make sure you're super protected! Like always be cautious about it. Get on birth control (if it's the pill make sure to take it around same time every day), and maybe even use condoms on top of that!! I know people will tell you that they aren't necessary when on the pill but it is only 99% effective, so with another level of protection it will be even more. I can't imagine not being able to fill express my feelings for the one I love! So just be safe and cautious of you do go for it, but still of course have fun :)

Depending on what state you live in there is a max of a 2 year difference in age allowed. Like for me, I live in Florida and my boyfriend turned 18 before me but it was still legal. Besides I really dont think the police is gonna go after you guys because of a one year difference lol

I agree it depends on the state. In NY, the age of consent is 17, I was 17, my SO 19 and we moved in together and I just turned 18 on the 22nd. It depends on the state.

1. you are 100% sure
2. you are as safe as possible
3. you talk to an adult
 
In my case my grandmother asked if things between him and I were becoming serious. I was honest, so I told her yes and that I wanted to be put on birth control. I waited until I had the implant in my arm and then about two weeks later we had sex. We had discussed it beforehand; he didn't want to have sex until I was on birth control and he still always uses a condom.

As long as someone knows and you guys are 100% safe and consensual there should be no issue.
