moving out at 17!

I hate my house I can't be here and I don't want to be here. My mom is crazy and too much. I have a friend who went away to college and her parents are more than welcomed for me to stay there and throw them money here and there for utilities. Can my mom stop me from going though ? Can she force me to stay? Can she call the cops and what will they do. I'm 17 and turn 18 in June I can't wait any longer. I need to get out. Someone help me
