panicking about rats

So I have heard scratching a lot within the walls of my home, but haven't seen anything yet, but this morning I woke up to this just sitting on my window sill in my kitchen. There was a lot of food in wrappers and stuff sitting about and nothing looks to have been touched. No other signs other than this poo to state a rat has been in the house, is this a rat poo???  And if it is a rat how will I find where he is and what shall I do 😭😭😭😭
