When is the right time to install the infant car seat? I'm 34 weeks now

You can do it now if you want. You only need to have the base in the car right now and can attach the seat to it when you are close to tour dd.

I'm not installing mine because the hospital makes us take it in and aee that it's installed correctly anyway so why install it now if I'll just have to take it out

I can't remember, I think we put the base in around 38 weeks. We only installed the base. We kept the car seat at the house with my hospital bag. I had to be induced at 41+3, so we took it then. If I had gone into labor and was not home, we were going to have relatives bring it with my bag to the hospital when they came to visit. (It was May, I live in Texas and had stuff like toothpaste in my bag. I didn't want to keep that in my car for weeks until I delivered).

38 weeks tomorrow and we still haven't 😂 we have practiced and know exactly how it goes in, so it doesn't take us long. lol I'd say by 36-37 weeks is ideal.
