csection mommas ??

Question

How long did you stay in the hospital after your csection and what are some tips you can give me ? I have a scheduled csection for Friday at noon and I'm super nervous, first pregnancy ..first time mom. Also, I have a nurse calling me at some point tomorrow to explain everything and to answer any questions I have, anything specific I should be asking? I have a small list but if you can add some that would be great!

I was the same situation as you, first time mom- scheduled c-section. Went in on Monday and left on Friday. I suggest bringing a few long nightgowns/night shirts to wear. You will be wearing a compression garment after and have the epidural still in your back for 48 hours. Also, if you're like me you might get horrible lower body swelling, pants wouldn't fit! After saying that, bring one large pair of sweatpants and t-shirt and comfy robe. With c-sections, it can be common for babies to spend a little bit of time in the NICU. You'll want to visit him if that happens with your little one.

I was so disappointed when I was told I would need a c-section because I wanted a completely natural birth. I was very lucky because my c-section went perfectly and I literally had no pain afterwards and had the easiest recovery. So while it wasn't my birth plan, it ended up being an amazing experience. Don't be afraid to take the pain medicine! I pushed my epidural button every time is was available for the first 48 hours and took the pain pills on time for my remaining days in the hospital. The only pain I felt was the first time I got out of the bed. Also, start on stool softeners immediately. You probably have to ask the nurse for them. Don't forget!!! I also recommend starting a probiotic now. They give you some pretty strong IV antibiotics and the probiotics can help prevent side effects associated with them.

You stay 3 days and the best thing I can tell you is move. Walk and move as much as you can. It's going to hurt like he'll at first but the more you move the better you will feel. I have had three children  all c-section.

My OB said I stay 5 days if it is a perfectly normal delivery and 7 if it's c section. My friend stayed only 3 days at a public hospital.

I was terrified of a c-section but it wasnt as bad as i thought (although for everyone is different) my hospital stay was 3 days and the best advice i can give you is to get up and walk as soon as you are ok to do so, its going to hurt and be very uncomfortable but its going to help you so much with your recovery!

It's normally 3 to 4 days in the hospital. First thing pack snacks hospital food is awful and normally medical only covers 2 or 3 meals tops (they where very small at our hospital), make sure to get as much rest as you can why you can, if you need help don't hesitate to ask don't over do your tummy area, if your going to cough or sneeze put a pillow to your c-section it helps, make sure for going home clothes you have something lose nothing to touch your c-section it will hurt like hell. If you can when you do go home tilt your seat back some so your not smashing your cut, I found it easier to have help for a week once your home, if you can get underwear that's lose fitting to go over your c-section or under it not touching I got my unders stuck to my stitches, personally I like the stitches better they don't hurt like staples (each doctor dose one or the other), make sure to listen to your doctor on your cut, take things easy tell your doctor gives you the ok that you can go back to normal ever day activities

Mine was 4 days, I left the morning of the fourth day. Like previous people said, bring loose clothes. I plan on bringing nighties this time, to just avoid wearing pants altogether until i have to leave, not sure if I'll be having a natural birth or another c section this time around. If you plan on breastfeeding ask if the hospital provide breastfeeding pillows, if not bring your own, it will help a lot

My niece and mom had them and they both were in the hospital 3 or 4 days. That's how long I was in there for with my vaginal birth.  As soon as you can get up and walk. It will hurt but the sooner you can walk the better, also take loss fitting clothes. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Good luck :)

With my first I think I stayed 4-5 days. As soon as you can walk please do so. Your gonna be in pain hun but it'll be worth it. I'll be having my third section in December.
