So I have really bad migraines and they are genetic. I am talking about excruciating, blinding pain with vision loss and sometimes projectile vomiting, even pre-pregnancy. After several months of taking the O.N.E multivitamin they stopped.

When I got pregnant, I switched to prenatals and they came back with a vengeance. There is no "safe" dosage of Tylenol or any OTC medication that would help and not hurt the baby.

I am very fortunate to have a progressive doctor who recommended the at I switch to a prenatal that has methylfolate instead of folic acid, because folic acid (the synthetic version of folate) can actually cause folate deficiencies and trigger migraines among people with the MTHFR genetic mutation (I.e., the migraine gene). Furthermore, folic acid could harm my baby because I don't process it well; my body needs the real deal. Once I made the switch to a folate-containing prenatal, my migraines disappeared completely.

I am not saying that you have the same genetic mutation; but switching your prenatal for one that has methylfolate pr just plain folate is like switching from one that has normal iron to "gentle iron." It's just easier your body. And we all know it's better for you to get your nutrition from Whole Foods, but there is only so much kale you can eat in a day and when you are pregnant, you might not even like it. 😉

If you need DHA, you might want to take a fish oil pill to supplement. My prenatals are more expensive, but Pink Stork is comparable to "1 a day" in terms of price.
