sharp stabbing pain in uterus?

Today I coughed and I got this sharp stabbing pain in my uterus. I have an IUD and have had it for about 8 months. I've heard you can get infections sometimes. So idk anyone else get this? I'm also not on my period

I've had similar pains. Had iuds for a total of 6 years. I'm unsure if the pain is associated by the iud though. If it were an infection though you'd have pain more than just when you coughed. In my opinion the pain occurs due to your muscles tensing there from coughing or sneezing. You should be fine but you could always go in to have your doctor check for and infection.
