had quite the scare today
Hey Ladies,
So I am writing just as a cautionary thing. I have had my Mirena IUD since the end of May 2015. So my period is about 5 days late and I had a doctors appointment and I mentioned it to my PCP because I get pretty regular periods. She had me take a pregnancy test, and I'm not pregnant. So she wanted to check to make sure the strings were still there. So she checked and she could not find them. She couldn't see them or feel them. I told her that my gyno had a hard time finding them in March during my annual but she found them pretty much right at my cervix because the strings had been cut way to short at my 6 week appointment because they kept falling out and poking me. Well my PCP told me that she felt is was necessary for me to get an ultrasound because she was concerned about the location of the IUD. So I went today to get a transvaginal ultrasound. It was found that my IUD is currently misplaced. I probably would have known if my strings were long enough for me to check. So moral of the story CHECK YOUR STRINGS so know if something changes.
