Recognize me ??

Question

My son is 2 weeks old he's formula fed I stopped breastfeeding at 1 week it was just stressful not producing enough milk him crying because he's hungry .. Anyways my question was even if I'm not breastfeeding which was hard enough to stop as it is ... Does he still recognize my smell ?? My presence ?? Just me ?? 😔😢 so many emotions going through my head

Yes, he will always recognize you as his mama! Breastfeeding or not, he will always know your smell, voice, and (eventually) your face and prefer you over everyone! Breastfeeding helps us bond with our LOs because of the close physical contact but you can have the same contact by doing skin to skin and holding and comforting your baby frequently; the feeding doesn't really have much to do with it.

Of course baby recognizes you! I can't breastfeed either and still do lots of skin to skin. Baby girl hates having to breastfeed but still cuddles up on the boobies. And she definitely knows me. She treats me different than she does her father.
