Waste of time or not?

So today the wait at the doctors office was extremely long and I had to get my boyfriend to work so we had to leave before being seen. I'm 38+3 and thus far everything has been health related to my pregnancy, but I still wanted to aT least get my cervix checked! 
My nurse mentioned just going into L&D but is it worth it? I'm a FTM, no loss of mucus plug thus far or anything labor related, I don't think.

Getting your cervix checked as far as I can tell and from my experience is pointless. I've been dilated for ever. Bulging amniotic sac, very thin cervix and I'm now 40+2 lol I know this because I've had two sweeps but the first time she said I was ready to go anytime then repeated it to me the second time. Babies come when they want to come no matter what you do 😧

My Dr said no point in going to LD unless severe contractions/cramps or water breaks.

From what I've been told cervical checks may not be indicative of anything at all. Personally, with no other symptoms, I wound wait.

No point until maybe after 40 weeks. I've been dialated to 4CM for 3 weeks and I'm currently 4 days overdue! It'll just make you more anxious ... and drive you crazy. Wait for the cervix check.
