I'm 27 weeks and when I have a contraction (Braxton hick?) I get a hot flash too. Normal?

Friday I went in and was admitted for preterm labor... received the lovely butt shots of steroids and the horrible magnesium IV..stopped the contractions...and I'm finally back home as of Monday. Today, I can feel some pretty intense contractions now and then (nothing regular) but they come along with a hot flash. Interesting...

Yes!! I went over due with my babies, but with my second, my Braxton hicks were always super intense. I felt hot, especially in my face and head, and pressure too like I was standing on my head. And my belly of course felt very tight and uncomfortable. So weird. I think it's normal, my theory is that it might be constricting some major veins in the body when your uterus contracts, that your head is losing a bit of blood flow to it.

My Braxton hicks/contractions are rarely uncomfortable, and sometimes I don't even know I'm having them until I get the hot flash!! Then I feel my stomach and it's hard as a rock! The hot flashes are AWFUL! Drenched in sweat in 1 minute flat!
