I want to be prepared when I get pregnant (hopefully this month!). 
Did you use a midwife? 
Can you have a hospital birth while having a midwife? 
How did that work? 
How did you find a midwife?

I used a midwife and had I had a hospital birth. The midwives were part of a clinic that was part of the hospital. Most midwives probably have the ability to work in a hospital nearby

I had midwives. But I live in Canada where midwives are medical professionals and are integrated into the medical system. I had a c section so obviously I needed to be in hospital but my midwives do home births as well as hospital births. If you live in the US just make sure you find a certified nurse midwife not a lay midwife.
