dilating cervix for IUI

I had an ultrasound today after taking femara for an IUI and my doc told me that she need to dilate my cervix before doing an IUI. She try to get in with the instruments but she had hard time putting cath in. So she told me to take ovidrel shots today and just have intercourse for next two days. If I get pregnant this cycle then no worries but if I don't then she will dilate my cervix in operating room with anesthesia for next cycle and then she will do IUI. My doc told me that my cervix is at an angle that she can't get in. I already had two IUIs and she didn't told me back then about this. Why she would recommend this on 3rd IUI? Does anyone have gone through same situation? Please give your thoughts. Really lookin for some advise on what to do.
