getting your baby to sleep in bassinet!?

My baby is 6 days old today and we cannot get him to sleep in his bassinet. We've tried rock and play but I know that's not as good for the baby (didn't work anyway) I know cosleeping is horrible but that's the only thing that's working right now 😭😭 Today I've been trying to lay him down flat for naps instead of someone holding him or putting him in the rocker.(which is hard bc I during the day I just want to snuggle him lol) I am breastfeeding too if that makes any difference. Any advice??!!

UPDATE- got out a white noice machine that I got at my baby shower and completely forgot about and swaddled the hell out of him and he slept in his bassinet!! ( did give him a pacifier for a few minutes but were trying to stay away from that for a little while) woke up for his feedings then fell asleep right back in it after! Happy mama over here 😄😄😄😄😄😄

Only 6 days old! He's still adjusting to life outside, it takes awhile for them. Do what you have to do to get some rest and for the baby to rest. If co sleeping is what you need to do then do it!

Co-sleeping isn't terrible. If done safely, it can be wonderful for mama and baby. My daughter refused to sleep in her bassinet, so by day 4 we bought a co-sleeper, and she slept with us. I wouldn't have changed a thing. Was a life safer - everyone was able to sleep, nurse, and have peace of mind. Just follow the rules of safe co-sleeping: 1. if you or your partner are obese, you shouldn't attempt this. 2. Place baby in a co-sleeper. 3. Never go to bed with baby after drinking or drug use. 4. If you smoke, you shouldn't co-sleep.

We've had baby sleep in a crib in our room from day one. A nice tight swaddle is necessary to get them to feel cozy and secure.

The rock n play isn't bad for baby lol that's the only thing my second baby sleep my in til we moved him to his crib. My oldest couldn't sleep in the room with us he slept much better in his crib

I had this with my daughter, it turned out she missed the smell of me, so I wore a big tshirt or a nightie for a day and then used to put it in her crib with her, next to me in my bedroom. She loved it and with being able to see me she slept perfectly ever since. We had the same issue during the swap to her room but did the same thing and all was well xx

Are you swaddling it really does help and makes them feel more secure while sleeping

We co-slept with both our boys. Longer with my second than my first. We used oe of these and we always brought our pillows down lower than baby. That way our blanket would never go higher than our heads over baby. Do what works for you :), enjoy it too, it all goes too quickly.

For hours at a time in her swing during the day and then when bedtime rolls around, forget it. It sucks

With my oldest I co-slept. He wouldn't sleep in the bassinet m to save my life. He had bad Collic, so that was part of it. My second son, slept in his swing next to our bed. A few times he slept in the bed with us if he was having gas issues. Our two week old little girl has been in the bed with me at least once a night since she was born, but her bassinet is right next to our bed, and she is in there sleeping most of the time. But when she is gassy and fussy I cuddle her up with me and she sleeps great!
