labor or not?

I've been having blood tinged mucus for two days now, and last night I had painful menstrual-like cramping that were consistently every 7 minutes for two hours. However they fizzled out and I went back to sleep. Today I've had those same contractions on and off all day along with back pain and groin/pelvic pain.. could this be the beginning stages of labor?? Or am I just getting my hopes up? The pain is pretty bad so hopefully it's doing something!
