Dead family dog
So my mom has had this little shitzu yorkie for about 15 years, she goes everywhere with it, and I mean everywhere and 2 weeks ago my mom went to visit one of her nephews and when she parked and opened the door the dog ran out as she always does... what my mom didn't know was that her nephew also had a dog... a big dog and as soon as my mom's dog got close to the porch that dog jumped on her and bit her neck.
Cost 800$ for the operation and it didn't work, mum had to put the dog down, so she went on Facebook saying she was sad and had to put her dog down and that if an owner knew their dog bit that maybe they should put a beware the dog sign up to avoid another situation like this. (Apparently that wasn't the first time that dog had bitten before)
Nephews wife goes in her comments and says: you should ask permission before letting your dog out on someone's property and you should of pm'ed me privately instead of blasting me on fb.
Urg this bothers me so hard, why? Because where I live it would of been a fine and restrictions for the bitting dog, where my mom lives? Nothing. It's not reportable according to animal control and the dog has to bite a human 3 times before they take action... wtf? I can't even let my cats out here without an animal control officer coming to my door with a warning of a 250$ fine for having a domesticated animal off leash because my cats shit in someone's flower bed....
I'm so sad right now, that dog was part of the family, and I'm ticked that there are no repurcussions for the owner of the other dog, and trying to lay the blame on my mom for not asking permission to let her teacup sized dog out of the car? The fuck is wrong with people? If you know your dog bites or jumps on people: Put a visible sign up.
Like I said if it would've happened here, they would've been fined for that shit.
Rant over.
RIP Lily
