feeling the heartbeat?

Is it possible to feel the baby's heartbeat if the baby is laying against your stomach?

Last night (early this morning) I was laying down and felt the baby right against my stomach (which I haven't felt before now) and It was moving so fast, I was thinking maybe it was the baby's heartbeat?

Is that possible, or am I going crazy?

That would be hiccups. They are rythmic like the heartbeat. I was so confused the first time I felt them too around 19 weeks.

No, the heart is inside their body surrounded by fluid and your organs, blood, body fat, skin, etc. When they're bigger you can feel hiccups because they're larger abs their whole body jumps. But you can't even feel an adult heart unless you're right up on their skin. You have increased blood flow while pregnant  so that is likely what you felt. Sorry to be the party pooper.
