Follow up post mc appointment

Today I went to the ob for a f/u from my miscarriage (bled 9/28-10/9). My husband and I wanted to start trying again right away but the ob is telling me to wait 2-3 cycles. This miscarriage was natural.. After my miscarriage in 2014 (d&c), we waited 2 cycles as instructed before trying and then it took us 4 months (I know that wasn't very long) but I've heard you're most fertile right after miscarriage.. Would it be bad to start trying now?
