Postpartum bleeding?

Question

I know it can last for weeks. I was wondering though, is it constant like you're on your period or is it only on some days?

I can't imagine bleeding for five weeks straight

I had a c-section and my ob said I would bleed for 4-6 weeks. In the hospital, it was horrible. Constant, heavy, worse than my worst period-like bleeding. The pads they give you are great though. I'm 18 days pp and I still wear pads every day. The bleeding as slowed dramatically though which has been a relief.

The first 3 days I bled heavy like a bad period. The next few days I barely spotted. Now I'm 9 days pp and my bleeding is like a light period.

The first week is like a heavy period, then it slows... But yes it sucks, a lot, pads for 6 weeks. I think mine was 4. My sister was 6 weeks and then a few days after it stopped she got her period, my mom was the same, both breastfeeding. My other sister and I were over a year before we got ours back

Mine came and went, heavy at first, stop, lighter than the heaviest, stop, lighter again and so on for about two months

I bled heavy for 10 weeks. It was constant for the first week or so then after that it was like a period then after about 8 wks it was like a little more than spotting but not quite like a period

I'm at 19 days PP and I'm pretty much just spotting at this point. Not sure if it'll pick up more or not, but I'm pretty surprised by how quickly it has tapered off!

Constant but it tapers off and isn't heavy the whole time. I bled for 6 weeks with my first. Each one it's gone away sooner. I think with my last I was done around 3 weeks. I think the more you take it easy the less you will bleed and it took me a few kids to really take that to heart. Now I treat the post partum phase as a sacred time and really try to give my body time to heal by not doing anything I don't have to for weeks. Be kind to yourself ❤

It was constant bleeding for 5 five weeks for me. But the last 3 weeks were similar to a very light period.
