Age Gap?

Question

I'm 16, and my boyfriend is 18. We live 2 hours apart (because he works.) and he doesn't like telling people he's in a relationship with me because it seems like he's "preying" on me since I'm younger by 2 years.

I quite honestly have never heard of that and now I'm skeptical if he's doing anything because I'm not there. It just seems weird. Is me being 16 and him being 18 bad?

Who cares what other people think my husband and I just got married. We've been together since I was in 9th grade and he was 11th. There was a two year age difference between us. And we finally just got married on August 20th. When we first met I was 14 just about to turn 15 he was 17.

I wouldn't worry about it! I'm 17 and my boyfriend is 21, and he's told his close friends about me but probably not my age, and definitely not his family or anyone else. I've only told my close friends and. Pretty much the entire internet but yeah! He can love you and still feel nervous about people knowing how old you are! :)

I think it can depend on the person. He may just be uncomfortable with the age gap but still be 100% committed to you or there could be something else going on.

I know I personally may have had an issue with the difference at the age but again that's just my feelings!

As long as no one is slapping statutory rape charges due to you being under 18. It's consensual etc. He is at risk because you are under 18. I don't blame him that he feels Leary telling people. I would be too. He does not want to be labeled a pedofile or have to register as a sex offender and ruin his life.  It's understandable.

I'm 18 and my boyfriend is 16, and I'm very open about our relationship. I actually am quite annoying with it, I talk about it way too much 😂😂 personally, I think, and I hate to say this, but maybe it's something more than the age gap? Sorry to imply that, I just feel like, being in a similar relationship as far as age goes, that MAY be the case. Don't panic though, maybe he just feels strange about the gap but nothing else!! Don't worry, girl.
