Period sleeping positions?

What position do you sleep in to minimize the chance that you might stain the sheets? I always sleep on my back, but I always wind up with a red blotch under me. So annoying!

My mom always said to sleep on your sides. I'm a stomach sleeper so I have the same problem. We used to make like a "diaper" by putting one thick pad on then putting another where your buttcrack would be. That way you can sleep on your back while being protected. I recently started wearing tampons, so I've worn them at night when I'm heavier. Just make sure that you're sleeping 8 hours or less.
