First pregnancy and birth ??

Just after some experience and advice off other women :)

I can deal with pain I have a high pain threshold but I cannot deal with human blood at all the sight of it makes me so sick and faint so it's been crossing my mind to get a c section anyone's advice please and keep it nice

I am the same way. I hemoraged.. But I didn't see any blood. I gave birth, she had tiny spots on her. They cleaned her up on my belly, noticed I was bleeding, took her for a minute and got it to stop, then gave her back to me while they stitched me up and such. They cleaned all the blood up and gross stuff before I even got out of bed. Your more focused on your baby then your vag. Besides you can't   Ask for a c section. They don't like to go that route

You won't see any blood with natural birth. Your legs will be up the whole time. They clean up everything fast. Just relax ha!

If you can't stand blood, I would think a c-section would be worse.....during natural labor, they may have to do an episiotomy, and there would be blood, but you wouldn't really see it, any other blood is also not really something you will see....you are focusing on other things and they clean it up so quickly anyway

If you're worried about getting sick they can probably give you some anti nausea medication. C-sections are way more difficult to recover from than natural birth and in general aren't recommended unless they are medically necessary. Even if it has become a more standard procedure it is still a surgery and no surgery is without risks. Also once you have a csection it might become more difficult to have a vaginal birth should you decide to have a second baby because not all doctors will agree to VBACs. I'm sure there are other things that are less risky/invasive that they can do to help you with your aversion to blood, just make sure to include it in your birth plan and discuss it with your OB.

I didn't see blood until my baby girl was given to me.  Also, you're going to bleed, sometimes heavy and sometimes just a little, after the birth for an unknown period of time.  Not sure the extent of your blood fear but that will happen regardless of birth type.  I don't believe a c-section will reduce the amount of blood in any way but talk to your doc.

I never saw one drop of blood during my labour. Even when I delivered her and even when I hemoraged I never saw nothing. Even if I did I wouldn't have cared your to wrapped up in what's going on around you to care about blood lol.

When you go into active labor you will have a bloody show and when you are delivering your baby you will be so preoccupied it probably won't cross your mind.

I had a c-section and they had sheets up but there was a lamp over me with a mirror-like silver rim and I was able to see more than I wanted to ? I would not recommend choosing a csection if it was not necessary. You loose twice as much blood in a csection than a natural birth and they use some kind of blood vacuuming contraption I was able to hear it and see the tube on the floor filled with blood. ??

I have given birth twice and never saw any blood. I don't think there is a lot until after you deliver the placenta and by that time you will probably be holding you baby and they clean you up and put a huge pad under you.
