Teenagers Trick or Treating?

Question

I saw this on Facebook and yeah I believe there isn't an age limit on trick or treating. BUT just because they do decide to go trick or treating for the couple of hours it's allowed, doesn't mean they're not going to go to a party afterwards. Not all teenagers party, I know, but them going trick or treating for candy doesn't mean they're not going to drink and have a party with their friends later. This lady's argument about giving teenagers candy and letting them trick or treat is not a very good one in my opinion. What do you think?

I don't care if teenagers come to my door but it kind of irks me when they aren't in a costume. I feel like you should work for that candy! Haha. I made all my costumes as a kid so it's not about how much you spend on a costume. Get creative if you want these Reese's!

If you're in a costume even if it's just a mask, you get candy at my house! It makes me happy to see teens still being kids!

Yes! Please give candy to teenagers! If they're dressed up and at your door they are probably the kind of teenagers who don't really want to go to a party. We can't do anything like drinking but people don't want us to have fun then.

If you're in a costume at any age we will give you candy. It's all in fun and once a year.

I honestly did trick or treat as a teenager with my friends and no we did not party afterwards. We all went back to my house ate our candy and watched movies. I will give anyone candy as long as they are actually dressed up.

I have seen people as old as 18 come to our door. Truthfully I would rather see that then have then drinking and driving (where I am legal drinking age is 18) and possibly killing someone.

There's no issue with anyone of any age trick-or-treating in my opinion, but just because there's candy to be had doesn't mean your teen isn't drinking/"partying". Just like dropping them off at school doesn't mean they won't drink/smoke behind the building.

I remember we would drink or smoke between houses then I was a teenager, but we had this thing called a curfew. Parties were for people who didn't like to be scared or their parents were less intense😋

In my neighborhood the adults trick or treat as well. Adults get single shots,gag gifts and other silly things.

I was so upset when I was 14 and tried to go trick or treating and no one gave me candy lol. I just stay home now and do nothing bc I'm not into partying lol. Now that I'm preggo, I'm excited to be able to take my child trick or treating!!!
