Rock Hard and Sore

Okay this is going to sound weird but has anyone ever experienced their nipple randomly going rock hard and kinda sore/sensitive? It just happened out of nowhere, and went they stop being hard they went cold and almost felt wet. It was the oddest thing ever. Should I get my hormones checked?
