yeast infection!

So me and now of course my boyfriend both have a yeast infection! I'm fairly certain that this is what we have, we both have all the symptoms. I was just wondering, is this something we need to go to the doctor for or can we just get something over the counter? My doctor is annoying to get to and I've been there twice in the past week and for two diagnoses for two separate things I'm going through so I figured if there's anyway I can avoid going back again that would be great. Also my boyfriend would most likely have to wait a few weeks for an appointment
