Membrane Sweep at 39 weeks?

FTM here - getting my membranes sweeped on Monday! I'm excited & ready but at the same time I'm not sure if this actually works or does anything? For the moms who has had this done, did it help you go into labor? Just trying to get more insight.. really don't want my baby boy to be late!

I had it don't yesterday at 39+4 and nothing. I didn't even spot after. 😢

I got mine done yesterday and had some spotting last night. Then today early afternoon I had mucousy discharge with brown blood, wondering if this is my bloody show or just what happens after a sweep? They say if it is bloody show that you can expect to go into labour 12-48 hours afterwards..fingers crossed that happens!! Good luck to you!

I had mine done at 39+2... had some light spotting and bits of mucus plug, but that's it. I'm 40weeks now... I'm going to try one more time at 40+4...if that doesn't work I get induced at 41+1😔
