Too much stimulation?

Question

First time mom here..

My newborn daughter turns 1 month on Tuesday; up until this weekend we didn't really have any visitors (not including after our delivery). My immediate family came to visit today around noon and left shortly before 2 pm. Around 3 pm, two of my former coworkers (one of them has 4 kids who all came, one of them is my god daughter). The oldest two were doing their own thing while the youngest (3 and 1) were running around, pushing her cradle too hard (I had to stop them and show the 3 year old how to do It) and they were touching her (gently). They were here for quite some time.. After they left she had cried non stop even after we had fed and changed her. She's usually really good about sleeping both in the day and night time but tonight like I said crying non stop, needs to be held constantly, etc. I am left wondering if she is too stimulated from today? If so, I'm going to start limiting the amount of visitors we have...
I know she is sleepy as she had fallen asleep for a little bit but it seems like she is fighting it right now!

Oh man, makes me sound like a crazy mom because we have been having visitors and going out since my daughter was about 2 weeks old. Not a lot of visitors but my cousins whom equal to 7 people at once who stayed for a few hours. Our good friends brought us dinner and stayed to eat with us whom have 2 big kids and an infant along with my 2 older kids and my newborn daughter has been totally fine. I'm not one for keeping her in a bubble or staying totally quiet around her because I'd rather her get used to noise and be okay with it. Granted not a lot of touching or holding from other to avoid germs and when we go out she basically stays asleep and only take her out to feed or change diaper because of the germs and other wanting to touch her but I feel like the more you introduce sounds and people little by little the better and easier they adjust. This is my 3rd baby though and just what I think.

Your babies probably not used to noise etc. That's a normal day in our house with 4 children. I wouldn't limit visitors baby will adapt. If you have a constant quiet house baby will wake easy with the slightest noise. I Hoover the dog barks. The toddler wants to rub her head. She doesn't stir through any of it.

We learned from a recent class that babies often become fussy in the evenings due to over stimulation! Their nervous systems are still so underdeveloped that they just cannot calm themselves. They recommended ensuring all needs are met (fed, clean diaper, etc) then to swaddle and comfort!

Thanks for the advice and comments! She finally fell asleep around 11 pm and slept all the way till 5 am, she woke up and we fed her and she slept again till 9 am. She's really good about sleeping through noises, we had the Blue Angels fly through our neighborhood a couple weeks ago and she slept through that and on Friday night she slept though all the sirens and helicopters in our neighborhood! We're starting to have more visitors to come over so that should help!

I experienced this a couple days when we had several people come by. Ugh, so over the visitors. I can definitely tell when my little guy gets overstimulated or when he is tired, but can't settle himself. Swaddling works like a charm for us.
