My doctor recommended I start taking bc for period reasons but I'm scared of the side effects, especially depression and weight gain. I also started taking Zoloft a few weeks ago for my depression and anxiety. Opinions?

Personally I have depression and I also was concerned when I went on the pill which I went onto for many reasons, I haven't experienced any of these side effects and I have been on the pill for 5 almost 6 months now ☺️. My periods are shorter, lighter and way less painful side I have been on it.

I have been taking the pill for about a year and a half, and have had no issues with weight gain (i take the brand Sprintec). Since you already have depression, I wouldn't worry too much about that side effect. If your depsession worsens, your doc. can adjust your dosage or change the pill you're on for depression.
