Sex after delivery?

How many of you waited until you got the go ahead from your doctor to have sex? If you didn't wait when did you start having sex again?

There are reasons the doctors make you wait the 6 weeks before you continue having sex.

You need to fully heal. Your body just went through a lot of work and there is no reason to get back at it so quickly.

After I had my baby sex was the last thing on my mind. Give your body time to heal. Especially if you've had stitches and or a difficult labour. 
They advise you to wait for good reason and I get the impression most women rush into it just to please their partners. If they have any respect they will wait. You just brought their baby into the world

I didn't wait the whole 6 weeks, maybe 3-4 weeks and I was pregnant again when my baby was two months old

Wait until the 6 week check up and after birth control goes into full effect

I heard a terrible story about a lady who didn't wait and had to go back to the hospital bechase she was bleeding uncontrollably after. It's not worth it.

Had friends get infections and bust stitches, I definitely will always wait for the go ahead from my doctor. There are other things you can do in the meantime...
