What happens in your first appointment?

Hi all, First off...congrats!!!!! We're having babies!
Has anyone had their first appointment yet? I have my first appointment on 10/24 and was wondering what happens besides the confirmation that I'm not completely making this up. I'll be 6 weeks and 2 days by then. How did it go for you? Did you get to hear the heartbeat?

I have mine this friday the 21st according to this app i'll 4 weeks and 6 days hoping to hear a heartbeat will keep you posted

👶🏽 I had mine Friday 10/14/16 at 4 weeks 5-6 days (I have a 29 day cycle, but doctor still calculated based on 28 day cycle: either way, close enough 😊).

At our office, and they're all different, we do a 'confirmation' sono to confirm the pregnancy (internal if you're early), a PAP if you're due for one and STD cultures. Then you meet with the OB nurse (me at your office!) go over your health history and some basic pregnancy information. 😊 I'm sure you could call your office and ask them what to expect.

Haven't had mine yet but they don't usually do a heartbeat , they test your urine talk to you about being healthy, some do a blood test for nutritional deficiency, check weight, and will probably do a Pap smear if you haven't had one yet. I'm opting out of the Pap smear this time because wth my first pregnancy I miscarried right after a pap and dont trust it
