did anyone of you ever left your 3-4 month old baby ??

I'm currently in 3rd trimester and my mother has been recommended a knee replacement surgery. She is living in another state and my older sister and I have decided to divide time to help her recover. My baby will be 3 months old then and I want to leave him with his dad for 10 days out of which I will be staying at the hospital with my mom for 5 days. I'll stay another 5 days and then my sister will come for 2 weeks. My husband thinks I won't be able to live without the baby and i really want to be with my mom. This is not my first child and I have pre-teens at home. Has anyone ever left their baby at young age for something like that ??                                                                               PS. I will be staying at hospital for 5 days. What will I do with the baby?? The baby will be demanding and I won't be able to take care of my mom.
