whirlwind birth

On 10/12/26 at 4:45 am I gave birth to the most incredible miracle; Remington Dylan.  A small back story. I went in for my 37 week apt at 36+4. My blood pressure was incredibly high for the first time in my pregnancy which lead to 48 hrs of testing for preeclampsia. All of my results came back clear and we decided not to go through with induction. That Friday at 37weeks I went for a follow up blood pressure check and was placed on a NST due to borderline BP and having a headache. While on the monitor I began having contractions and baby boy went into distress. They sent me to L&D in order to be monitored over night. We were released the next morning with instructions to continue with our regularly scheduled apt on Tuesday 10/11. We went to the apt that morning with the feeling that we would be scheduling induction for later that week. However, my blood pressure was incredibly high and I was showing signs of pre-e. My doctor decided then and there to begin induction. I was admitted to l&d at 11:30 started on magnesium and and they inserted a foley balloon to increase dilation while hooked tonthe monitors they realized my BP was high and baby boys heart rate was incredibly slow. They continued to monitor us both. My contractions were intense and at around 8pm they gave me my epidural. 20 minutes later both mine and baby's heart rates tanked and they rushed to get us both stable. At this point I was in and out of consciousness and was placed on oxygen to keep me awake. They began pitocin at 10 pm and continued to watch us as I was not ready to push just yet. My heart rate tanked 1 more time at 4am and it was decided the baby need to come now or we both were at risk. Luckily I was fully dilated. Because my BP was so low I remained on oxygen in between pushing and had to focus on not passing out. After only a half hour of pushing my baby was out and placed on my chest alert and screaming. They monitored him and tended to me and made sure I was stable. There were multiple times throughout the night that I didn't think we would make it but we are home and healthy. It was a rough start to life but baby is doing fantastic and is beginning to thrive. I am thankful every day that we had the outcome we did because it could have ended very different.
