so annoying when people don't understand that the main point of veganism is that's we aren't better.

I find that people become very defensive when you are pointing out an aspect that they “should” feel bad about. When I went vegan, people would get visibly upset and my husband believed that it was because I was unintentionally pointing out their flaws. I don’t care what others do... I just do me the best way that I know how and people really don’t like it. 
As a side note I completely agree with everything that you were saying. I have a list in a variety of places to remind myself what being vegan for one day saves.
