pack n play in a tiny house?!

Question

For those of you who already have little ones, I'm starting my registry and am torn on a pack n play. We live in a small house so there would be very little space to have one setup in our living room. The baby's bedroom is steps away on the same floor for changing. We do have a large kitchen and I thought it could be nice to have in there for when making dinner but other than that, I'm just not sure I need one! Thoughts? (PS - our families live close so we wouldn't need one to stay overnight at their houses.)

If you don't need a pack n play for night time sleeping & have a small house, then no point in getting one. You might prefer something portable like the fisher price rock & play, because it's portable and can easily go into every room.

We have the Graco Travel lite "crib" it's a smaller pack n play. I think it says it's like 30% smaller than a normal pack n play.. We are currently living with my parents (while trying to buy a house) so we're all in 1 room. Once she outgrew her bassinet we started using this, plus it's great for travel (which we also do a lot)

I order this one that is a mini pack n play. It's a Grace travel crib. It's about the the size of a bassinet. It's on Walmart.com for $87.00

We have a small house too (3 bedroom ranch) and I will only be steps away from the nursery. But, I do plan on getting a pack n play for when we travel and stay with people, plus a place for when we stay with my inlaws.

I'd get a swing or bouncer instead. If you spend times alone with baby, you may need to move it around a lot (e.g. Near the toilet door 🙈).

You can always get one later if you decide you want one. We also took ours outside or in the garage to keep baby corralled.

Agreed with those who recommend the rock n play.  Our little guy lived in this for the first 2 months, at which point he started using the Fisher Price Itsy Bitsy Bouncer - but are great because they're easy to move around the house.  We have a pack n play but he's 3.5 months now and we've only every used it as a sleeper when we've travelled.

I also live in a small house bedroom steps away .. we choce to go with a cheaper pack n play (graco simple solutions) for when we go away (my uncle owns a shore house and a house in the mountains and we go camping ect ) so wanted something on hand but didnt want it to cost a fortune because i knew id never get the use out of it .. it is literally the pack n play with the basinett poles .. and has a changer that attaches too was $70
