Circumcising? (Explain why/why not)

I have read medical studies on the pros and cons of circumcision. Boys who are circumcised are less likely to get UTIs (one study showed that 95% if UTI cases in boys under 1 were uncircumcised boys). Circumcised males are less likely to get bacterial infections or have have their glans become infected. Circumcision will also prevent a painful occurance in some males where they cannot return their foreskin to its original location after an erection. Uncircumcised men are more likely to get and spread STDs (including HIV) and more likely to give their partners cervical cancer, due to HPV transmission. Penial cancer is also almost exclusively found in uncircumcised men. One medical pro to leaving your child uncircumcised is that they are less likely to have the opening of their urethra become inflamed or infected.

The American Acadamy of Pediatrics still says it should be up to the parents and they do not say that all boys should be forced to have routine circumcision so it's up to you! I know some people are adamantly opposed to circumcision and for them, I say, then don't circumcise! But all of this info, including the fact that my husband is circumcised and has NO bad side effects from it and feels plenty of pleasure from sex makes me perfectly comfortable with circumcision. My first son is and it was such a short procedure that he handled very well. He was happy right after and nursed like a champ. Do your own research but I think parents have the right to make this decision on their own, without being bullied I either direction.

My son is circumcised 👍🏻 we have no regrets , if I have another boy he will be as well

If I have a boy I will not because I don't think it's necessary.  But everyone has to make the best decision for them and their family so I have no opinion on what others do.

In the UK we dont do it unless it's medically neccessary. As far as I'm concerned if it was as important as people are led to believe in other continants it would be widely practiced across Europe and its not. Unless your doing it for religious reasons or genuine medical I would say it's mostly cosmetic.

I'm having a boy and he won't be circumcised. I currently live in Europe and it's only done here if there is a medical reason for it. I believe it's mutilation because if boys/men were supposed to be circumcised they'd be born without foreskin. Foreskin actually serves a purpose. Also I don't think the parents have the right to choose, it's not your body and your son has rights too

I read that the extra skin can harbor bacteria and may be more difficult to clean. That was my reasoning. Plus physically, I believe it looks better, but that's something that my son hopefully isn't worried about yet (he's 12).

Daddy is Jewish and is circumcised, so baby boy will be too, at the hospital with topical anesthetic.
