Can I start my ovulation test now or should I wait??

First time using them and it says to start after your last period ends because they can only be used for up to 30 days. But according to two apps, I should be ovulating either this week or next... i want to know how accurate my apps are. Can I test now? Do they say that just because they don't want you to waste strips? 😩
