Im a ftm mom, im 2 weeks postp... 
Just a question i was wondering about. Will you or did you use a condom the first time you tried havinh sex post, also if you tore and they had to cut you down there, how long did you wait?
 Any do's and dont's about the first time after baby you wish you knew? Advise?

Also is it true that its very dry down there first few times postpartum?

You really need to wait until you get the All Clear from your doctor at your follow up appointment. There's a reason they have you wait.

If you tore, or were cut, you DEFINITELY need to wait to heal. It's going to take longer than 2 weeks.

Also, as far as protection goes...you are VERY VERY fertile after having a baby EVEN if you have not had your period come back. If you want to take the chance and possibly get pregnant so soon that is up to you. I would use a condom or get on birth control (and let it take its course) before continuing to have sex. Again, ask your doctor.

No sex until your doctor says you can. Sex earlier can cause infection, hemorrhaging, or even just extremely pain.

150 million percent use a condom! Even if your period isn't back you are extremely fertil. And no, breastfeeding is NOT a former of birth control and you CAN still get pregnant even if you're breastfeeding.

As for the rest, I don't know since I haven't had my baby yet but I'm going to assume take it very slowly, and maybe keep some water based lube close by just in case there is dryness

With both my previous baby sweet attempted intercourse at eight weeks… It was very tight and very dry and painful at that point, both times we waited another month and resumed regular intercourse at 12 weeks PP.

My advice would be to definitely consider contraception for the beginning, you are very fertile after having a baby and much more likely to get pregnant again, and definitely take your time and use lubrication the first few times, it will feel like you're losing your virginity all over again.

I waited 11 weeks with my first child, 10 with my 2nd. I tore both times and was still way too sore st 6 weeks. My husband was very understanding. We used a condom and some lubricant the first time and yes, it hurt a little but it gets better fairly quickly.

Definitely, 100% wear a condom unless you want another baby right now.  You can be dry a little while everything gets back to normal, just use ky or something.  Technically they want you to wait at least 6-8 weeks or until bleeding stops.
