Thoughts on whooping cough vaccination?

I've read loads of things about this vaccination and I'm in two minds about it. On the NHS website (I'm from the UK) it says there's no risks to unborn babies from having it. Can anyone speak from personal experience?

Vaccinations are necessary and people who refuse them are putting other people at risk.

Yes yes yes 100% get it. Whooping cough is horrid for babies. Look up videos of it on youtube and you'll see why they push the shot so much. It's deadly in infants

Watch any video of a baby with whooping cough. It is absolutely terrifying. Why would you want to put your baby through that? To hear them struggling for a single breathe, and even possibly die. Tdap all the way

It gives your little one antibodies because they can't get their own tdap until they're two months old. Google videos of babies with pertussis. It's scary. I'd do anything to avoid that in my child.

I recently found out that an illness I had as a kid was probably whooping cough. I was 3 or 4, so old enough to remember it. It was  one of the most painful illnesses I've ever had and I've had a lot of uncommon infections. I remember the painful constant cough and being unable to breathe. The worst lasted about 48 hours. There wasn't much that could be done except try to reduce the cough. Knowing what that was like for me as a preschooler, I can't imagine subjecting an infant to it when it is preventable with a shot.

My husband is a specialized doctor and I'm not getting the tdap or the flu shot.

Yes! I got one a few weeks ago, and I got one with my now 3 year old. Definitely get one.

I will be getting mine after delivery. The vaccine causes an immune response in YOU while you are pregnant which definitely causes developmental problems. The entire time you are carrying your baby, your body sees it as a foreign body to some extent. That's why your immune system is suppressed naturally during pregnancy, to keep your body from attacking the baby. When you cause an immune response in yourself, you trigger that reaction against your entire body, including the baby. This is just science. Getting the shot after birth is better based on my research, I can control who baby comes into contact with before his/her 2 month appointment (maybe 4 month, can't rememeber off the top of my head) when TDAP is administered to them.

I got mine yesterday, 29 weeks, I'd do anything to keep my baby safe. The way the dr explained it really helped me too.
