Cold common during early pregnancy?

I am 7 weeks pregnant. I started off with a really bad cold- stuffy/runny nose, itchy throat and ears, and nonstop sneezing. Now I have chills and feel like I'm getting the flu! Is it common during early pregnant to catch a cold?

It's common during this season to catch a cold. I don't think it has anything to do with you being pregnant.

Yeah it is. Your immune system is down because your body is a bit stressed making a baby. rest assured it won't affect them, you may feel extra crap though.

Your immune system isn't as strong as it normally is during pregnancy. Cold like symptoms are also typical early pregnancy symptoms, as well. But it sounds like you did catch a cold!

Drink lots of fluids and rest up if you can, peppermint tea helps me a lot when I'm feeling ill.
