I'm in love with someone who treats me like he doesn't care about anything. He isn't sure of what he wants why fight for someone who wouldn't fight for me.. Yet he doesn't want me to move on he wants me to wait on him. Yet he still wants sex?... Isn't this crazy??

I am in a similar situation. He has been my best friend since high school and I love him a lot. I want to take our relationship further and actually start dating but he said he's afraid he'll hurt me in the end. We hang around each other quite a bit and most people seem to think we are together when we are out in public (even strangers).

The issue is that even though he's said he doesn't want to date me, at some point I get emotionally attached again. I begin to hope that he will change his mind and care about me like I care about him and then I get upset and disappointed when it doesn't happen. I have talked to friends and family about it and they all tell me to move on and meet new people. Every now and again I say I'm gonna stop talking and hanging out with him and move on (even told him) but I keep finding myself going back to him.

It isn't crazy, it's called wanting your cake and eating it to. He is getting the best of you with out having to give the best of him. Move on.

I have found that sex can cover up the truth. A bad relationship will go on much longer than it should have if the sex is great. I'm not a prude, or manipulative, but if you take the sex out of the equation, his motives will become clear. If he really loves you, and is in it forever, he will realize there is a problem, and try to fix it. If he's just messing around, he will give up, and find somewhere else to stick it.
