I want to EBF. When do I introduce bottles so others can feed baby too?

If I'm able, I want to EBF but I also want my boyfriend to be apart of the feeding process later on. When can I introduce bottle feeding with breast milk to baby? I'm only 8 months pregnant right now, so I have 2 months to figure things out.

They say wait 1-2 months to establish a connection breastfeeding and prevent nipple confusion. Look up about nipple confusion and you'll understand why.

I tried at 6 weeks but my son won't take the bottle. There are certain bottles you can get that are better for breastfed babies as it minimises the chance of them having nipple confusion.

I was going to post the same thing! Glad you asked!! I want to pump early & introduce a bottle early for an easier back to work transition for baby, dad, & I. Wasn't quite sure when to do so, also thought of nursing for the 1st week & switching to pumping and bottle feeding after.

I introduced bottle at 4 days old and had no confusion with my baby. But I got lucky. All babies are different. They even say pacifiers cause it too but again it didn't with my daughter. You can wait after a month or two and introduce but sometimes babies don't take a bottle at all. Happened to a friend. She never got a break. Now that her baby is eating solids and is 8 months she was finally able to go back to work without worrying about her daughter being fed because she would only take boob. It's really up to you. Just know it can take some work and don't let it get you down if things don't go as planned. Best of luck as far as that goes💕

I think it really just depends on the baby, my baby was a NICU baby so there were times during the day where I couldn't be there to BF her and they introduced my pumped milk the first day I actually started BF, she never had a problem taking the bottle and BF, there was no confusion for her

I'm a ftm so haven't tried yet, but I'd like to ebf and have expressed milk so my husband can do some feeds.  I've read a lot of things that say introducing a bottle either too early or too late can cause problems - from what I've seen said the 'safest' time to introduce a bottle is between 2-4 weeks old.
