Henry is here! Made his arrival two weeks early!

Kasey • First child, Henry, born on 10/23/16
Woke up this AM around 3ish and had to go pee. Made it to the toilet and felt like I had to go #2 so I hung around for a little while. Baby was moving around a little bit as I sat on the toilet. I got finished and climbed back in bed and boom- water broke in bed! I hurried back to the toilet and called out to my husband to wake him up. We got to the hospital and I had to wait and lie flat so the midwife could check my fluid. When she got there she bypassed that and checked my progress. I was 5 cm. The contractions were getting worse and as much as I wanted to go without pain meds or the epidural, I got them and it was so worth it. I could still feel them with the IV pain meds but I didn't care- it was nice! The anesthesiologist came in and did the epidural. It took 3 tries because he kept getting it in a vein. Once it worked my legs numbed up pretty good and the contractions were gone. I was checked again and it was time to PUSH! My nurse and OBGYN (not mine, he wasn't on call) were awesome! Baby came quick and they had to use the vacuum to help get him out but it was fast! He was born at 9:36AM, weighed 7lb 4oz and 20 inches long. I couldn't have asked for a better or quicker labor and am so glad things started out naturally at home. This FTM and dad are so in love with our sweet baby boy!
